i just recently installed a b16 into my 88 crx, anyhow, started up, runs nicely

there is an oil leak, it's coming from the head, tranny side, looks to me like it is right under the distributer on the upper right side of the upper rad hose.. . anyone info on this ? i have yet to take the distributer off and see whats there ?

What ECU are you running? The oil leak is either the cam seal on the end of the exhaust cam, or the o-ring on the distributor that seals it in the hole on the end of the intake cam.

I have the same thing. It's coming from the cam seal on the exhaust cam. Anyone know how easy this is to replace?

i paid my damn mechanic to replace my cam seal!,
i was just too 'scared' to do it...
seeing it being done, i think i could have done it in my sleep now...

u NEED a torque wrench to torque the cam cap bolts down
post up for the rates, because there are 10mm and 12 mm bolts..

hth

edit: torque specs..
the 10mm on the outside are 8lb-ft and
the 12mm on the inside are 17lb-ft.

ok..i'd have to see it to tell ya, but i had a heck of an oil leak around my VTEC solenoid after my b16 swap..i thought it was a cam seal or the o-ring at first. turned out my oil pump wasn't cutting off and the oil pressure was running way too high and blowing out the vtec solenoid gasket. here's what i would do if i were you..get a can of brake cleaner..spray off where the oil has leaked really good till it's nice and clean..start the car up and let it idle for about 5 minutes..get a good flashlight and watch til you see the leak start. this will only work if it's a pretty heavy leak (mine was) good luck dude.

distributor o ring from the 90-91 integra i believe. i hope your oil pump isn't screwed like mine was..i had to put a new oil pump in. it all depends on how much oil is coming out..if it's just a little bit then it's prolly just the dizzy o ring or the cam seals..if it's POURING out like mine was..mine kept blowing vtec solenoid gaskets. i didn't rev my car up into VTEC while i was having this problem..so i'm not sure if VTEC would engage or not.

how hard are you pulling on it mine just slipped right out. BTW the only thing that could be holing it in is the key way on the intake cam

i finally got it off

it was the pin.. that ISN'T supposed to be where it was.. due to someone putting the dist. on wrong , there is a ring that is supposed to prevent this from happening.. it was put on wrong... therefore pin was sticking out and preventing the dist. from being pulled out

also, pin sticking out = grinding into the aluminum = causing small groove = bad

i duno if this will affect anything ?
