I have a 96 Accord, 4 door, automatic, and we've been together since the beginning.

The other day I started the car and was driving out of a parking lot when I heard a steady beeping noise. At first I thought it was a truck backing up, but when I got to the end of the lot driveway there were no other vehicles around.

I realized the beeping was coming from somewhere within the center of the dashboard, over the radio. I had my foot on the brake and put the car in park. The beeping stopped immediately. I put the car in drive again and there was no beeping and it hasn't beeped since.

Does anyone have any idea what that might be? Going on vacation soon (driving) and wonder if I need to have something checked. No lights came on during the beeping incident, nothing smelled funny, it appears to have been an isolated incident. But I would love to know what that beeping was from, if anyone can help.

My 95 started beeping awile back. It beeps on and off and then stops. I realized that it only happens when my seat belt isn't on. Funny thing is it never did that before and i've owned the car for 7 years

 

Sounds like a seat belt warning to me too, but don't take my word for it because I drove a 96 Accord for 3 years and can't remember if it even had a warning chime.

 

No they only beep when you first start it up. Dont know why its doing it now though

I had this happen to me twice. Never again. I think it is just a show of love.

 

My 97 accord makes humming sounds like a pump sorta sound off an on at times. Anyone know what this could be?
