rod question
Anything would help i know its a stupid question but some people just know more than others so one more time does the bolts that is from the b16 rods fit the ls rods in a ls block cause if it does i would like to change mine cause i heard that ls rodbolts are weak thats why the rev limit is at 6800.
theres more to why the LS cant rev as high and its not just the rod bolts. i dont see why youd want to rev any higher anyways. i saw a stock LS dyno before and it was making like 70whp at 7000rpm LOL so you might as well just shift where it is now. that is unless its built. IMO building an n/a LS isnt worth it. so much money and so little power. dont worry about revving higher just turbo the damn thing. when you want it built than some aftermarket rods/pistons will obviously come into play. and yes you get ARP rod bolts in most rod packages.
Use ARP rod bolts, they run about $35 and eliminate the weak link on the LS bottom end. Many people have built LSVTECs with only the addition of ARP rod bolts on the bottom end and rev to 8K for years with no problems.
And for those who have an LS motor and can't afford swaps or turbos, the LS engine can be fairly cheaply built to have some nice power and torque. Not everyone is a baller.
