Default need help!!!

well i thought my starter was bad so i took it to get it test and everything passed so after putting it back in i decided i would try it again and still doesn't work, and have no clue what it could be.....so i was talking with a friend thats a mechanic and he said that maybe the teeth on the flywheel are bad.....so i put my finger down where the starter goes in and connects with the flywheel and it feels like the teeth are all there, so i was wondering what else it could be?!?!?!?!?!?.........please help i did sum searching and really couldn't find anything

What are your symptoms? Does the starter even spin when the key is turned?

The solenoid sounds like it is not functioning properly to engage the starter gear with the flywheel.

YOU ARE CORRECT! A starter might seem like its working but won't start a car because the little gear doesn't stick out far enough to catch the flywheel. I put a starter in a"03 CR-V the other day because the solenoid would only push the gear out far enough to catch the flywheel intermittently. Otherwise it would only spin or grind. Pony up some rubles for a starter!
