HELP PLEASE! I HAVE ENGINE PROBLEM!
hey i was putting mmy spark plug wires back in and when i started the car, it sounded really weird and i had a crazy power loss. what can it be? i touched all nthe headers and the 2 middle onees are normal but the 1st and last one is not really that hot. am i misfiring? please i ned help. it sounds like a muscle car like a broum broum.and when i rev, it revs slowly. can it be a blown piston? and can someone show me where the wires plug in? like on he distributor where do they plug in? it was working fine right before i took them out and i need help please
Any codes? What were you doing to the engine when this happened?
If it was fine before and now its not after you touched the wires, I'd go back and check the wires.
There are plenty of engine bay pictures online to help guide you to what goes where. Next time when you take something apart, take a picture of it with a camera before you go yanking stuff. That way you have a good reference of what goes where.
Stop revving the car.

ok. im real scared right now. there was dirt on the wire insulators and i took a wet napkin and cleaned it up a bit. can it be that water went in the wires? can can someone describe me carefolly where all the wires plug into?
you messed up the firing order
starting at the bottom left, that is #1
cyl #1 is the timing belt side
the engine turns clockwise when you look straight at the dist cap.
firing order is 1-3-4-2. check it.

rule of thumb
if you "fix", "upgrade", or "replace" a part and the car runs worse then before DONT DRIVE THE CAR till it runs better. That is how people damage engines.
also you only have 1 header you were touching the primaries
but yeah it's your firing order when I replaced my wires I did the same thing so it happens no biggy

k thanks i ficed the firing order but now bigger problem. CAR NOT STARTING! i think and im hoping its sthe spark plugs that mesed up. hopefully i have no engine damage or anyhing. i havent changed the sparkplugs in a long time. prolly has been over 15k miles. do you think thats the reason car isnt starting? im gonna get some new ones and try it out. car feels like its about to start but thn dosnt.
How does the distributor cap and rotor look? I mean take it off and look inside.
Make sure all spark plug wires are securely tightened.

take a plug out, stick the plug wire on it and turn the key over to first see if you are getting spark. If you are not getting spark, inspect the ignition coil first. That is what gives everything spark related, power. If that doesnt fix it, check the distributor cap. There will be a metal "spring type" nipple, make sure its not corroded and that its getting contact with the rotor.
well i got the wires in place its just that now the car isnt starting. it feels like its about to start but doesnt like ther eisnt fuel going into te engine or something. i us recently changed the fuel relay and ave a fuel pump laying around. i still think its the spark plugs
I just started dig into my block today @ 4ish here is what it looks like but, in color

and then when you get the bolts off it looks like this

I'm going to finish it off may be in the weekend depending on how things go this post kicks *** hopefully things will turn out good when i get to the next block

ya i think i put teh wires in wrong and was mis firing but car wont even start now. i think the spark plugs got gas on em so im gonna try replacin em. what do you guys think? it feels like tehres no gas going into the engine but i think its the spark plug wires. it feels like is about to start but doesnt
so do you think there is a fuel problem? when i try starting the car, it almost starts but then doesnt. felt like tehres no gas in the engine but i can smell gas so my best bet is that gas corroded the spark plug and the spark plugs arent sparking so tomorow im guna take em out and see.
if you weren't getting a spark and you were sitting there cranking on it for a while, you could have soaked the plugs and it wouldn't start up for you, but i've flooded the HELL out of an engine and dried the plugs off and started it right up.
its definitely an ignition related issue. troubleshoot it, its probably all over the archives.

well how can you dry them? can i jus let em sit in the engine for a while or should i take em out and let em dry or jus get new ones?

if you can smell gas and it feels like its about to start, it probably is flooded. if you havent already tried it: hold the gas pedal to the floor while you crank it and it wont let any more fuel to the cylinders. 15 sec cranks at a time, may take a min or 2 to clear it.
hope this helps
