My 92DA LS will not go into reverse at all, and grinds a bit going into 5th. This weekend I am doing a complete tuneup to it, which includes changing the tranny oil. I heard this may help, any other suggestion what it could be if this doesnt work?

i see it all the time when people just shift into reverse and it grinds. if you are having trouble shifting just straight into reverse. shift first, second, then reverse and 9 times outta 10 will go in like butter. but if your transmission is already grinding i wouldn't change the oil because you might make it worse, i know it sounds crazy but if you drain out all the shavings that are probably in the gearbox it probably might not work at all. i have seen it happen, it is like when people complain with a automatic trans that it is slippin then they change the filter and fluid and instead of making it better it makes it worse.

did you try double clutching to get it in reverse? when my reverse wasnt working very well i just started it in reverse.

since its like that already you might wanna try some syncromesh

 

if none of the quick fixes work then it will just have to do without untill i get teh motor swap
