Default Tranny problems

I was driving on the highway yesterday, when I noticed a funny thing happening on the 4-5 shift. Whenever I would go down to 4th to pass, then quickly shift back up to 5th, I could feel and hear a clunk as the shifter passed through the gate on the way to 5th. On slower shifts, this didn't happen. My R has about 8500 miles on it. Has this happened to anyone? Man I wish D still had internet access.

jeesh Ross, sorry to hear that. Why don't you schedule an oil change at Acura and have them put in new tranny fluid also. While they are at it have them look for possible problems. You said you need to change your oil anyways and your car is under warranty, so if they do find a problem you are covered. Also, people have said good things about BG Synchrshift trans. fluid. Supposedly makes a noticable improvement. You can get some here http://www.machv.com
Perhaps you should order this first. Acura will put it in for you if you bring it with you (Clair Acura will anyways) Kill three birds at once for short money.

Yeah I'm definitely going to have them look at that, as well as some other assorted little niggles. Only problem is, I'm going back to school on the 25th, so I don't have time to order that, or the Comptech cleaner that I need to clean my filter. Sucks. I guess all I can do is get the oil changed and have the car fixed up with whatever stuff they've got lying around there.

How often should the transmision oil be changed?
