Mount them as near as possible to the mid-woofer to minimize time alignment issues. This will give you better SQ. Mounting them up higher can create reflections which can affect imaging in addition to time-alignment issues. There may be enough room under the stock plastic grille to fab up a mount to either slip right under or to put recessed into the grille.

i'm not sure if there's room or not to mount it in the grille, if there isn't if i put them near by like a few inches up would that work?

also about kick panels, on the driver's side ones, has anyone ever had a problem kicking the panel all the time? is the panel getting in the way of the dead pedal area for those with a manual?

a guy came by my work one time, that made these little trim plates out of abs to mount his tweeters in the storage pocket right behind his mids. they were facing kinda up and back. looked pretty good, i didnt even notice them at first. pretty sure it was a 2 door also. wish i had pics.

If so then the easiest/cleanest way is the hit the bone yards and find an EX, and get the "sails" and see if the tweeters you have can be made to fit them, otherwise mount them as close to the mids as possible, [as has been mentioned]

If you do not already have the speakers, and you do not want to cut your doors, get the EX "sails" and find component speakers with tweeters that will fit the "sails" or get a good 2way point source speaker like the Eclipse SP6500... http://www.eclipse-web.com/point/sp6500.html and you will not need to cut your door panel or use the "sails", [that place the tweeter a long way from the mid]. 94

I had the Q-Forms in my '98 Civic and I loved them.

You will, however, lose your dead pedal with them...

Why? Because you'll have to move your foot?

Hey did the pod interfere with the clutch pedal at all? Did you have the 5.75 or the 6.5 ones?

I had the 5 1/4" set, and they didn't interfere with the clutch pedal...

I loved them...
