Default My new wheels. Time for fender flares.

Finally got a set of Kosei K1's. 15x8 with +22 offset. I can finally start using 225/50/15 tires to help with traction for street use (check my sig for dyno graphs) I've searched through the archives and have not really found a solid source for ready to bolt on flares for front and rear. I know the WWest kit will make it a bit more difficult to get a good fit on there but I'm debating to keep the body kit anyway. I probably could get a set custom made for the car but if anyone knows of flares from another model car that is fairly close to the crx's profile let me know what and where I can get them. Any helpful advice to make this look right will be appreciated.

Current tire size is 225/45/15. Bought these wheels from a friend's auto crossed 89 BMW 325i. I'm keeping the ride height as shown so when I get 225/50/15 tires it should fill up the wells much better.

Tires stick out about 1.5".

Full turn left to right with no rubbing. No wheel spacers either and using stock wheel studs. Tires are 9" total width. These would be the wheel specs to use on a street EF as long as it is not slammed.

Yes. Flares will clean it up real nice. Just have to find the right fit. That 8.5" contact patch is awsome on the street. Even just testing the Hoosiers on the street bites nicely on second gear. I finally don't have to wait to third gear before it hooks.

You could have run a 225/50-15 with the 15x7s +38 with less of an issue.
I can't remember his name right now. But if you go to http://www.nwp4life.com in the Civic forum there is a guy doing a CRX build with flares.

this thread had the same question, no flares available that anyone knows of.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1897771

but I think any universal ricer flare could be made to work, maybe riveted or molded on. I'm thinking of using some for my next staggered setup on my CRX

225/50/15 fronts 205/50/15 rears

also. excuse the stupid ? but wtf does nwp4life stand for?

what tires? I run Advan 032r's (discountinued now) and heard it squeezes the tire too much to be on a 7" vs a 8" rim.

Thanks for the positive comments. My set-up is 100% stock GSR motor with the standard Garrett T3/T4 57 trim at 11psi. It makes about 310 whp and 276tq on a Dynapack 3000 as seen on the dyno graph in my sig. I actually already thought about using 15x7 wheels with the +38 or +40 offset but with the 225's, the sidewall bulging was bothering me. It was also causing some rubbing issues on the inner suspension. I'll also lose a little bit of the contact patch by using the 15x7's so I decided if I was going to go wide might as well get the most tire on the ground and get the 15x8's. I found the Kosei's by luck. A friend of mine bought an auto crossed '89 BMW 325i and the seller included these wheels with the sale. I can't believe how perfect these actually fit. Bolt pattern, offset, width and even the hub centric rings fit perfectly on the CRX. I searched online for the same set and still have not found them. It's like these wheels were god sent. Anyway, I'm not having any luck really finding a specific flare set for the CRX so looks like a universal set along with some extensive blending will have to be done. Once I get a set of 225/50's on there, I'll snap some more pics.

Take a look at http://www.theoldone.com look under articles at Larry's Civic I think he used the same wheels you have, and made some nice looking fender flares.

The setup IMO looks good
I'd just be worried about the suspension travel and getting the fender into the tire until the flares got on. I'll try to find that link I was talking about and post the pics

BFG Drag readials. 225/50-15 with 205/50-15 Toyo T1Rs on the rear in the pic.

our cars look alot alike...until you pop the hood
