Default Blox HSL cams + Boost

I am thinking about purchasing some Blox HSL cams to replace my current GSR cams in my built 81.5mm b16. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these cams in a boosted application. I'm looking to make right around 400whp on pump gas out of this setup.

I used my old Blox HSL cams from an all motor build for a supercharged setup. They sucked. I gained power by swapping out a $50 set of GSR cams. The HSL cams went to ebay.

How well do Pro 1's idle?? This won't be a daily driver but will be driven on the street as my weekend fun car.

Nice to know...is there any other Blox cams that you would suggest me running?

HSL's are the only ones that I used. They worked fine for NA, just not for boost.

I'm now using Crower boost cams, made 275 WHP at 6.5 PSI from a supercharger, which isn't bad.

I think a supercharged engine and a turbocharged engine would have two different ideal cams.

There is a big difference in selecting cams for a supercharged car versus a turbo car though. You have to consider the pressure relationships between intake maniofold versus exhaust manifold.

Which is why I specified that the motor was supercharged................

With any FI application you are going to run into a fundamental difference in the way that the cylinders are charged. If you look at turbo cam profiles you will see basically the same thing from different vendors, low overlap and decent lift. That profile promotes cylinder charging in turbo or SC setups. NA cams are different, featuring more overlap so scavenging can help evacuate the cylinders, which doesn't have the same importance to a boosted motor.

I'm thinking I want to go with the Blox type B cams now. Are these comparable to the pro 1's?? Here are the specs off of the Blox website.

Intake (lift / duration)
0.489" / 266
Exhaust (lift / duration)
0.472" / 266

Instead of guessing what will work similar to the pro 1's, why not just use what you know works?

The Pro 1's idle good, the small lobe is definitely a lot bigger than stock, but they still idle fine.

Haha good point. I might go Pro 1's just have to see if my funds will allow it. I was concerned with the idle but as long as the idle fine then I might get them. Like I said its not a daily driver so its not a terribly big deal but I do still drive it around on the streets so idling is definitely something to consider.

Alright thanks for the input! I'm guessing this is on a boosted setup?

Is that what they're actually called on blox's website?? The pro 1's just as skunk calls them or are they called something different. I see they have a blox type-C cam are these the pro 1 knockoffs??
