Default TSX engine in an EM2: Having starting problems...

Well, I finished this swap last week. I've got a 2006 K24A2 that's almost 100% stock (different throttle body, transmission, and a few other things...) in my 2001 Civic EX. Now, the car runs, drives, and handles perfectly normal. I'm having issues with starting the car. I relocated the battery to the trunk, and used 2 gauge copper cable to do so, so I don't think the cabling is the problem here, but I could very easily be wrong. I had to splice the alternator cable with this new cable that leads to the trunk, and all went well, but I could, once again, be wrong.

My car seems to have a huge problem starting. I even bought a brand new battery, which sort of fixed the problem, for about 6 or so starts. What could be the problem here?

Not quite the turnout I was hoping for. Oh well, I'll keep looking into it.

It is clearly a grounding and wiring problem.

Of the top of my head, check the ground on the alternator and starter... Maybe it is not 100% in contact... When you are saying, splice the alternator cable, you mean the charging harness cable going to the fuse box?

Where are you grounds?

I have no grounds leading from the engine to the chassis. My harness is grounded to the valve cover bolt on the right of the dipstick. My battery is grounded to the inner fender on the passenger side, rear of the car.

And the alternator is spliced into the lead to the fuse box and to the battery itself, as it was when the battery was in the engine bay.

I'm going to add about half a dozen grounds today, mostly from the block to the chassis.

No need to add too many.. you do need 3... one from the tranny to the chassis for sure, the valve cover one and one from the chain cover case to the chassis.

Where would you put the chain case cover ground?

Also, what about the starter motor? Where should the negative lead on it be?

See that orange golden wire? The ground is already on the starter... Just make sure it is tight.

On the chain cover there are around 25 bolts holding it.. Just pick one and mount it to the chassis...

The car will start without a chain cover ground.. the important one is the tranny one.
