Need your help. Trying to remove my factory steering wheel
there are two plastic covers on each side of the steering wheel. Pop them off and undo the screws on each side. That removes the aribag. To get the actual wheel off it's one 19mm bolt I believe. I just use my factory lug wrench, works fine. Then pull the wheel off,
Unplug your battery first, along with the SRS connectors for the wheel air bag. There's a step-by-step in the Helms manual. You have to remove all the plastic covers on the base of the wheel, then remove two torx bolts holding the air bag. NWP is right about the 19mm bolt. Just remember to set your wheels straight before you remove it to make replacement easier. The SRS connectors/wires can be a bitch, but the WILL come out without cutting (I've done it, but it takes patience). Also, you CAN remove all of the plactic covers without braking anything (I've done it) but I remember posting a similar question when I was stuck on one cover (the one with no screws holding it in. You'll know it when you get to it, LOL!). Everyone here said "break the fugger" so I went out to brake it off. Sure enough, it came out without braking. Who knew?
then remove two torx bolts holding the air bag.

hehe, i think you ran into the same problem i had while installing mine, i think you have a CTR steering wheel and not the ITR steering wheel, since both look almost exactly alike, except for the minor details, but the hubs are different.

check the splines/knurls on the shaft and in the steering wheel, count them maybe...
CTR and ITR are different shafts...
