i recently installed an LSD equiped type r tranny on my ls. During a test run after the car warmed up i noticed a whining noise coming from the tranny. Could this be the sound of the LSD. At first it was only when i down shift, but after a few min. i could hear it all the time. My Haynes book recomends 10W-30 motor oil in the manual trans, but they didn't mention anything about LSD. I heard LSD needs a much heavier weight fluid. What type of fluid should i use for this application, i don't want to waste my new trans.
