new red b series valve cover turning into crap

Default new red b series valve cover turning into crap

whats up guys i got new oem red type r valve cover and the grommets. i thought the rubber grommets on the valve cover were good but apparently the werent. i even torque them to spec and oil seeped out on to my new valve. is there something i could use to clean my new valve cover with out changing the color of the new red wrinkle finish

I used WD-40 on a clean shop rag on my ITR vc to get some of the light oil stains off of it and it worked pretty good without taking any of the paint off.

You could also try using a light degreaser.

iono how you are leaking with new grommets. just do it hand tight really dont need to torque them.

Simple Green works wonders, I use it for all my engine cleaning needs.

Not if you do it right.
1) Spray bay down while car is off and cool.
2) Wait ten minutes.
3) Pressure wash and reapply.
4) Wait ten more minutes then wipe off with a towel.
I did this and my vc looks brand new along with my bay.
