b16 starting problem
Ok here is the story. Rebuilt this b16 bottom end, its about thr 5-6th b16 rebuild ive down this year. Stock rebuild (bearings - rings - honed - etc..) Well Everythign went smoothly putting everythign back together.. It is turbo and uses MSD ignition.
Now for the problem.. Got good spark and good fuel, Timing is set to 14 degrees (thats what it was set to when taking apart) Engine cranks good, and i hear the walbro pump going... It just wont turn over.. Anyone have any suggestions or maybe something I'm missing here...
There are two wires that I honestly dont remember where i took them off from. The first is a big guage wire - White - with a small round connection at the end.. And the second was a brown wire that was all alone and just floating around in the harness, That was has 12.6 volts going through it.. Anyone famaliar with these wires maybe???
Any info would help... I hate this car cause its been nothing but problems from the start....

Location of the wire will be useful, and the WHT larger gauge wire is most likely the alternator chargeback wire, make sure your alt is connected to the fuse box and the alternator output terminal (both are screw on).
I cannot recall any other wire in the harness that is large and WHT, except for that one. The brown wire (if its near the thermostat housing) is most likely a ground, the PCM grounds itself out there (but it doesn't make sense if it has battery voltage in it though).
Center the distributor in its travel, this will put your timing in the right spot to get it started for now, and then you can a timing light on it.

white wire-eyelet connector? (alternator)?
brown wire- gauge and pin type?
picture? location?
not being a smart ***, but how can u set timing with the engine not running? is engine timing set (timing belt) adjustable cam gears?
