Default Is my hood fixable? and my frame/upper radiaitor support?

Got in a little accident last week...my frame is a little kinked and so is my hood.

Just wondering if my hood is fixable and if my frame can be bent back?

The frame/upper radiator support

The hood

new rad. support or you can try to pull the rad. support back. Headlight might not line up good though.

Yea...it's not bent that bad at all...I tried bending it back and got most of it back I would say...

Anybody have an idea if my hood can be fixed?...like can it be bent back and then smoothed out w/ body filler?

anything is fixable i would first take some 180 grit or 80 scuff it up. Than use painter blue tape and makr the area where youd want to bondo. Than i would fill it in. Than sand smooth. To sand smooth 400 wet/dry than 600 800 than paint it

The body shop would hopefully be fixing my hood so I don't have to get a new one...

But I am thinking of having the body shop change out my upper radiator support instead of having them bend the old one... a new one from Honda isn't that expensive but would you guys think it would cost more to weld the new one in? or bend the old one back to shape?

I don't need the whole radiator support...the bottom half was untouched from my accident...I only need the top part only (where the headlights bolt up to)....I actually found just the top portion from hondaautomotiveparts.com for about $50.00...not too bad at all...but it's how much the body shop is gonna charge me to swap it out...

Do you guys know how much a shop would charge roughly? I figure it would be alot easier than bending the old one but I'm not quite sure.

i would have to diagree. u dont just wanna go off and start wiping mud. first u want to pull it as close to original shape as u can then wipe mud. then prime, then sand, then seal, then paint.

to the OP, i would probably say u would be better off replacing the radiator support. a good body man should be able to get it near perfect but its hard to make it to where the headlight will line up perfectly. also, ur gonna need to replace the fender. also, how did this happen? can u file it on ur insurance?

Yeah...the upper support part is only like $50 or so from Honda...I really want to replace it rather than bend the old one...good thing the other parts of my radiator support didn't get damaged...

I rear ended someone because they were turning into a street...did not signal and stopped half way with their back end sticking out... roads were wet and once I hit the brakes....they locked up and I slid into them at like 10-15mph (guessing)....

I only had liability insurance at the time so I am not covered and I was at fault....the people I hit however were most likely illegal immigrants since they walked away from the scene and left there car when I was calling cops (cops towed it)...the cops also pulled their plates and the car had no insurance....then the cops said I can just leave since it will be better for my situation w/ insurance....but repairs would be outta my pocket.

Anyhow...I have new fenders and headlights on the way...and I should be getting estimates soon to go into the body shop.

I would fix everything but the headlight and the fender obviously. The upper tie bar is borderline for replacement.

It's hard to judge from pictures the extent of the damage. A lot of times when hoods get hit like that they tend to pucker in the middle on the edge, also hinges bend very easily.

A lot of shops will charge to pull out the a/c condenser and radiator for access to the core support (condensers and drill bits don't get along). If you take it to a shop and have them fix the bare minimum, you might get out of there spending around $1,000 in labor. Thats not including materials, parts, or blending panels for color match. Good luck

Dude, don't quit your day job. I don't mean to offend you, but that would look horrible.

I went to 4 shops today....most of them said they would pull the old upper support out and weld a new one in....that would fix my right headlight and make everything line up...also they said the hood can be fixable...they're gonna try to pull the edge and smooth it out as much as possible....and as for paint...just the front end is gonna be painted.....

All the shops I went to were professional shops and I got estimates ranging from 1200-2400...

I got quoted 1200 at a shop where my friend is a painter so...I'll be most likely going there....wish me luck.

Thanks for all the help

Here is a pic of my front end put together...hood is still kinked and my right headlight is pushed in a little still...3 headlight tabs lined up except for 1....amazingly...most of it went together!
