b16a hesitating
ok yesterday i drove to the beach with no problems whatsoever. then after staying there for a couple hours i try to start my car and it wont crank over. i check everything and all seems good and i try again and nothing. Then i try starting it while giving it gas and it finally started. then as im driving along on the freeway at about 60-65 mph im in 5th gear and all of a sudden it starts losing power and even though im giving it gas it starts to slow down as if its not getting any. Only when i floor it does it start to pick up speed. i had to be over 4200 rps for it to drive without flooring it.I think it might be the fuel pump since it is the stock dx fuel pump and i've never changed it since i got the swap. im gonna get a walbro 255 pump today because i've needed one but if anyone has any advice on what else it could be.possibly bad injectors? a bad fuel filter? any help is appreciated. thanks
it could be wiring done wrong also or a ses
fp should be 35-45 but you must watch it during acelleration i personally have a really long gauge i put it on the hood and watch it from inside while driving
its very hard to test the dizzy its best to use a known good one and try it out

i have used a ls obdo and cut off a sleeve where the vtec is at and only the top bolt will fit
word for the wise it will increase timing by about 5 degrees so always use the timing light

ok i replaced the fuel pump with a walbro 255 and i replaced the fuel filter as well as a full tune up. car runs stronger than before and hasnt had anymore problems whatsoever. The original pump seemed like it had never been replaced. hopefully i fixed the problem!!
i think its your cps(crank shaft position sensor)that is located in your distributor.
pull the carpet up on the passenger side and look and the ecu and wait and see if it blinks.
count the blinks and the search for that code. really easy....
cause if its not letting you go past a sertin rpm, then your cps is was is causing it to stay in safe mode.
just change the dizzy and you'll be ready to go

well i dont thinks its the distributor because its not doing it anymore since i changed the fuel pump and filter. but it was letting me rev as high as i wanted as long as i floored the pedal. if i was at half-throttle thats when it was hesitating and not even accelerating. there was no check engine light and i tested the distributor and its getting spark every time. however i did order one just in case and if it does go out ill have one handy to put on.
