help me...3rd to 2nd over 9000rpms while sparying :(
well i really fucked up, i just got my head back a few weeks ago to get some bent valves replaced and now i decided this moring after everthing has been settled that ill use my nitrous.
I was spaying in second then shifted 3rd sparying up to around 7800 then being the dumbass that i am i shift mis-shift and shift into second, goes over 9000rpm, i have the zex kit so i believe that because i was not at wot while i shifted into 2nd that it hopefully wasnt spaying but im not sure, after i misshift my car died, i rolled to the side of the road, closed my bottle wait a few seconds and tired starting it up, it started like **** and sounded like it was bogging out, i drove to my hous and it starts better and doesnt sound that bad.
its a 94 gsr with 120,000 miles on it, my questions are, would the nitrous still been shooting when i hit the fuel cutoff when i shifted to second and also how bad is this going to be, do you guys think the engines shot, or could it be ok, please help and give me some advice. sorry this is so long

Ya, definetly not a smart idea. You definetly did some kind of valve bend. Do a compression test and that should give u the answer u need. This time try titanium retainers for future f!ckups.
maybe use the money to learn to shift....
I have never misshifted in my life, like good old Bob Bondurant says, shifting fast isnt what you want, shifting cleanly and smoothly is or something to those lines

sounds like you bent your valves. If you take it to a dealership, I heard they charge like $1000-1500 to fix it, but you can always get it done cheaper at a private shop. Like they said, take the compression test. Does your car stall when your at a stop and is your idle rpms really low? Ask them to save the valves that got bent and post pics of them, I wanna see if you have a serious bent or a very slight one.
i think you should take it easy on your car and practice shifting and downshifting at a relatively low rpm. once you get the hang of it then you can take it up there. leave that for the people who know how to drive stick for now. maybe you should slap a low revlimit on that bad boy as well until you get the hang of it.
low rev limiter still isn't going to save him from a 3-2 misshift. i figured he would've been more careful shifting after he blew up his engine the first time
The best thing he can do imo is since he is going to have to replace valves, add titanium retainers while the head is off. I recomend ti retainers to pretty much everyone if u gotta pull the head anyways.
Im also interested....if u didnt bend valves what did u do? Not trying to be asses but when someone just had their head rebuilt, u dont go unloading n2o on to it. Use some common sense man.
