Default Ebay VSS?

I know eBay usually doesn't have quality parts, but some are ok. Has anybody in here had any experience with an eBay VSS? I found them on there for $13 and $13 shipping which beats the ***** out of paying $115 from Advance. Please chime in if you can.

Anybody? I need one quick for inspection and I really don't want to be a guinea pig for the product.

I *may* have a good working one as a heads up, I replaced it out of my car awhil eback thinking it was my speedo problem but it was the cluster.

What exactly was the problem with the speedo? Bad ground? Alot of people tell me that the VSS is a common problem for the CD5. I was thinking about junkyard because there is one locally that is loaded with Hondas. I didn't wanna take the chance with a faulty one, but I'd imagine they'd be super cheap anyway.

How much are you interested in selling for?

It's sitting in my garage haha, I'll sell it for less than ebay and it's OEM.

As to my speedo it was all out of wack (sometimes dead, sometimes moving all over, etc)

I thought it was a problem with the VSS, but there was no CEL so it didn't fix it . I had to replace the rear circuitry on the speedo.

Let me know if you're interested, I'll make sure i've still got it in my tool chest.

I'm def interested. I would rather have a used OEM peice instead of something iffy from eBay. Maybe it is my speedo, because I am not throwing a CEL either. But, my speedo sits under the zero and 140 or whatever it goes to. I'll get a video of it. It sometimes works though.

ah

if you don't have a CEL you need the cluster you'll be wasting your $$ on a VSS

Thanks ahead of time. What exactly was it that you had to do? Should I just PM you so we're not bumping this thread the entire time?

nah it's fine, what I did (might work for you) Is I opened the cluster and removed the green circuit board that attaches to the back of the speedo (it just pulls off after removing the screws)

Worked fine after that
