Sub/Amp - Stereo connection help

Sub/Amp - Stereo connection help
i got a single 10' sub connected to a mono amp
i made all the connections for the amp, battery power, ground, and remote
speakers from sub directly connected to the amplifier
audio wires from amp to headunit
its a alpine headunit and all the settings are on bass and sub "on", and sub bass all the way up, but no bass from the box
i cant figure out why no sound comes out at all
if anyone knows something let me know

are you sure you pluged into the right rca? is the amp powering on? is the sub or amp blown?
