92 accord rough idle
when i took my car in to the dealership, they told me i have a rough idle. I've had a full tune up minus the fuel filter and the PVC valve. i read it may be a vacuum leak, my egr valve, or my iac valve. my real question is would my check engine light come on if one of these were happening. if not what could it be, and do i really need to worry bout it.
IACV wont tigger a CEL unless its totally plugged. Same with the EGR valve. Vacuum is a toss up, depending on what is leaking it could throw a code or not.
IACV is easy to clean on your car. all you need is a pair of pliers to remove the 2 clamps that hold on the coolant hoses and a 12mm wrench or socket to remove the iacv. Use some brake cleaner to clean out the screen and the ports inside till the fluid flows clean. dry it out and re-install it and bleed the coolant. i'll take some pics for ya tomorrow.
One of the pics is kinda blurry, but this is all I could find in my photobucket in a pinch. I'll take better pics later, and probably make a DIY on it.
IACV and FITV location on F22A6 motor.

And this is what a dirty IACV looks like:

You want to clean both the holes in the IACV with brake cleaner till they look like new. Make sure that all the brake cleaner has dried before it get reinstalled. hopefully you can blow it dry with either heat gun or an air blower.
