Default LST VS LS/VTECH TURBO !!!!!!!!!

My friend has a ls/vtech ls stock block and a gsr head w/ a turbo replica that you buy from ebay he says he is pushing 5psi of boost. i have a LST stock block w/ a rev-hard kit and im pushing 7psi and his car is much faster than mine. can some tell me if the gsr head has alot to do with it or what?
