Default Stripped Nut on Exhaust Mani

I bought my 99 dx hatch from NY and it's rusted to **** everywhere... one of the 11 mm nuts on the exhaust mani is stripped to no end and I am wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on how to get it off. I don't want to f- up the bolt. I have another nut to replace it once it's off... I got everything else loose already to change my header. Thanks and sorry for such a N00B ?

Check that thread out. Theres some pretty good ideas on how to go about this situation. I am pretty sure that all Honda exhuast bolts are 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, or even 5/8. I have never heard of a 11 mm bolt unless it was replaced at one time for another. You could just cut the bolt and that would allow you to get it off. I know that the nuts stripped, but it wouldnt hurt to get a new bolt.

i had the same thing on my B16 when i fitted a performance manifold.

i carefully took off all the other nutts off, got a set of mole gripps (clamping pliers) and un-done the stripped one, luckily got it out in one piece, went and got some new stainless ones from the local hardware store, covered them in copper slip before putting them in, and also used brass nutts as these wont rust on in the furture.

if u snap it then its a bit hard to get out, my mate done that on his, we used a 6.8mm drill bit to drill it out, but if you can remove another one next to it to gauge how deep you need to drill, so u dont hit an oil way etc. (or the head will be scrap!!)
then tapp it out so youve gota clean thread before putting the new bolt in.

hope this helps.

thanks .... any more suggestions ? I think I am going to try the strippend nut/bolt kit and some locking pliers.... the nut is the one on the left just outside the center on the bottom so it's hard to get anything in there *crosses fingers* I might trying to see if I can get some thing to head up the area a little to see if that helps too..
