What motor is in a 4th Gen Accord?
A buddy just bought a 4th gen Accord LX that needs a head. One of the valves has a hole in it according to the people he got it from but they said they have run it like that for 2 years. Anyone know what motor is in this? I should have looked when I was with him looking at it yesterday but didn't think about it and being that I'm not with the car right now and neither is he I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head?
the 94-97 Accords don't have the F22A engines... the 94-97 LX/DX had a F22B2 and the 94-97 EX has a F22B1.
You could swap a non-VTEC or a VTEC head from the 94-97 Accords onto the F22A engines (see the FAQ) but if you are just looking for a non-VTEC head keep one the F22Ax heads as the port design is better than the F22B2 head.

Oh I had thought the 5th Gens were F22A's for non vtec and F22B's for vtec. Thanks for clearing it up for me. I guess I will just look for a head for a F22A.

yes, every USDM 90-93 Accord came from the factory with either a F22A1, F22A4 or a F22A6.
