B16a with T3/T4 turbo, fuel pressure test to determine injector and/or fuel pump?
I recently bought an 89 civic hatch already built up with a JDM B16a engine with a T3/T4 turbo setup, and it is untuned besides for an FMU, and is running extremely rich, as evident from the fuel rich smoke blowing out the exhaust. I plan on taking the steps to get this thing tuned and running properly, but I am in the dark about whether or not the fuel system is upgraded or not, namely the injectors and fuel pump. My question is can I do a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail to determine this, and if not what can I do to at least find out the ability of my fuel pump without having to drop the gas tank? I want to note that the stock fuel rail on my B16a lacks the hookup in which youd normally use to get the fuel pressure, which is a shame.
On that note, I also wanted to ask what everyone thinks about aftermarket fuel rails, what benefit one would give me, and what brand would be recommended. Itd be nice to get one with that hookup, and I apologize for saying "hookup", I just cant remember what they call it.
