Default smoking VTEC?

I'm having alot of smoke come out in VTEC and I mean like ninja vanish smoke. I just did a tune up on my car.
Motor has only 44000miles. These are the results,
compression
1)200
2)200
3)200
4)205
leak-down
1)8%
2)9%
3)8%
4)11%
I also changed cap, rotor,wires, fuel-filter,oil,pcv valve.

So the only thing I can think of is the cat-converter, or just running rich. I'm not modded exept AEM cold-air intake. Any thoughts?

VTAC oil must be running low haha. Anyways... I'm guessing its white smoke your referring to? Any loss of power?

Black smoke = fuel
White smoke = coolant/water
Blue smoke = oil

Your Comp/Leak look good. Head Gasket? Possible coolant problem? Rings? Need more info to help yea out.

Could be leaking valve stem seals. When you replaced the PVC valve, did you perform the install corretly? Gotta ask...

Yes the pcv valve was installed correctly, there is no oil leak, it hardly burns oil, so I must be running really rich or my catalytic converter is bad. The owner that I bought it from only drove it about 8000 miles in 2 years, so it sat alot.

And like I said it's a bigg black puff of smoke every time I shift, and the car is stock.

the compression seems pretty good for a stock motor , the leak down is questionable.

How so? new car leak-down are supposed to be around 3-4%.
Thats what my tuner told me unless he was wrong.

regardless of leak down, black smoke happens to almost all ITR's (vtac motors) when hitting vtec. If its black I believe its gas, which probably means your running too rich for whatever reason. Something with the 02 sensor maybe?

Yeah, and hes gettin 8-11%

I'd put my moneys on a leaky headgasket. Higher compression on #4. Higher leakdown rate on #4. Try doin leakdown test with thradiator cap off. See if the coolant bubbles.

If you want, try some Subaru coolant conditioner. I know, sounds hackish but Ive seen the ish work many times and should ony cost a couple bucks. 1 bottle stopped 3 leaks in my radiator within a couple hours.
Plus, can't be too bad if Subaru recommends we use it every time we drain the coolant.

Yes, variation on #4 is slightly questionable.

Have you tried reading the plugs?

How many miles and how much vtec have you done, before concluding you are not buring oil?

What color is the smoke anyway? Can you have someone you trust drive it while you follow, so you can get a better look at it?
