I have a 2001 Civic EX and it started acting funny lately. Car starts with no problems and it runs fine until I come to the first stop, then the rpms drop (even when you accelerate the rpms dont raise). That lasts for about 5 seconds and after that the car drives fine. I tought it was the EGR valve and changed it but the car is still doing the same thing.
Any ideas what can it be?

Is it throwing any codes? Sounds like it could be fuel filter or pump restricting fuel flow.

 

If you haven't found out what the problem yet, check to see if the exhaust manifold is cracked between the 3rd and 4th cylinders.

I found out mine is and several others have had similar problems with this years exhaust manifold.
