Solid CEL drove fine then wouldnt start

Solid CEL drove fine then wouldnt start
for starters i fixed it but im curious as to why it happened.
drove around town today just fine went to work parked and when i went to lunch car turned over but didnt start threw a solid cel. checked the inside ecu fuses and there was only 1 fuse i put a 15 in the 2nd spot and it started right up. What im wondering is what made it just decide to not work since that fuse apparently hasnt been there for a while?
