Default HIDs make people think you have highbeams on??

I am soooo sick and tired of having people think that I have my highbeams on when they are not on. I have people blinding me all the time, tonight I couldn't see and almost hit someone crossing the street.... guy with the sports car who doesn't know how to drive.

It just really pisses me off that people do that, I know HIDs are bright, but they are not that bright.

Anyone else have a crazy story about something like that?

Every now and then it happens to me. I hate it when the jerkoff in front thinks I'm high beaming him and he'll slam his brakes or slow down.

Are they aimed correctly?

If the driver coming towards you, or the driver driving in front of you is below the cutoff of your headlight, it will be extremely bright.....

I don't think people flashes high beam because they think you have hi beam on. It could be the case if you are coming down from a hill or something. In most cases though I think becaus I"ve seen before is that people hi beam you due to the changing color of your light. One time I saw this man hi beam the first year TSX because their light flickers a lot. People just thinking, "what the hell, why that car's light changing to so many colors"?

i got it from time to time in the S too... them i throw my highbeams on just to let them know they wasnt on...

one time a camty was tailgating me an di was going 80mph ( standard speed on SOCAL FWY's)
they high beamed me like 3-4 times.. and there was no one else on the road...
he goes around me then cuts me off slows down.... now im pissed.... i high beam him ... you see he swing side to side real quick.. then pulls aside outof the way of my headlights.. man we got a kick out of that !

And yes.. the headlights are bright.. REALLY bright.. 4300k = The amount of Kelvin's equal to Sunlight - Is that.. "not that bright?"

I think I'm going to check the alignment, but they look like they are aimed in the right direction.

I must admit I get a bit of pleasure out of making people feel stupid for flashing me without reason.

i aimed mine so the right side is higher so i can see street signs and people on the side walk. and my car is lowered.
in the service manual it says to aim them 25 ft away from a wall and they should be a certain amount of milimeters high from the floor. idn the rest i'm too lazy to go look it up

1) Park car on level ground, 25ft away from a wall.
2) Upper cut-off of the headlight should be 22-24" above ground.

4300K is a measurement of color, not intensity. Intensity is measured in Lumens. Color may be a little confusing, because the K represents Kelvin, which is a measurement of temperature (like celcuis or farenheit). However, in light bulbs, it only refers to color, not brigthness. The origin of using K to denote color is in the definition: a black body radiator heated to 5500 Kelvin gives off a certain color of light (mostly white, but slightly yellow, matching sunlight).

For the record, sunlight is closer to 5000-5500K. 4300 is more red than daylight, which doesn't sound right to me because I think the OEM S2000 HID is bluer than daylight. That means higher than 5500K.
