using bondo to retrofit?
so i found out that the person that helped me do the HID retrofit for my car used bondo to attach the projector to the housing, i just found out when i spoke to him the other day, he said it should be fine because it's used to repair cars. Im just wondering if you guys think it would be safe to use(would it keep the projectors stable)? or if it can withstand the heat from the HID lights? or if there would be any problems at all from using bondo?
Yeah, bond should be okay for a while, but you should except some cracking soon, And it matters if you drive over alot fo bumps and ditches, that could speed up the 'cracking' process of the bondo.
oh. he also used screws but he used the wood screws on the top right and bottom left of the projectors. and den bondoed it afterwards.
i do drive on bumpy roads but will the projectors like eventually fall off?

if he at least used some screws and then put bondo onto of those screws, you'll probably be alright, cause I always use JB weld onto of the screws to help keep them in place
If he used some screws, then you know at least they wont fall right off, but the might shake, and when you are going over a speed bump at night, there going to move around alot, and thats when it matters. It will be like having headlights that go 360 degrees BMW calls it "adaptive lighting". hahah lol. jk,
The fix---
-just use more bondo?
-Use more screws?
-Use Liquid nails around the seams ( my friend used it )
Hope it helps!

lols, hm. well if i wouldve asked customlightz to do it instead, would it be a lot better? cause i got some s2000 projectors and i'm thinking of just asking customlightz to do it for me, i want to know if they would do a good job, because all i want is to know for certain the projectors would be tight and secure because the road i drive on is pretty bumpy and i don't want the projectors to ever fall off.
do u think customlightz would do it tight/stable enough?

if its already cracking then i doubt its gonna last that much longer, you can try custom lightz if you have the money, from what i hear the do good work...or use it till it falls off, then take a shot at it yourself. when i had mine i didnt use screws , just the epoxy stuff, at that time i was running a h22 motor with som crazy mounts and did som pretty hard launches and it held up great. personally, wouldnt use bondo, its to "iffy", but yha , use it till it breaks and then hack at it, im pretty sure whatever you end up with will be better then bondo.....gl

I probably could've done a better job, cause I haven't had anyone complain to me about their projectors falling off on them. The only thing I've had people say was that the whole reflector bowl was loose cause of the aftermarket headlights I used made by DEPO. Some of their headlights don't have that great of a reflector bowl mounting point. I'm now going to start adding silicone on that spot which should help out
