Mystery Fuel problem
I have a 1986 pgm-fi accord lxi when u start it the idle goes up and down some times it goes to about 1600 then drops right back to 1k in a split second it will do this about 6-7 times in a row and then stop. Then after u take off once u come to ur first stop and go again the car hesitates it will have power and then it wont its definitaly something in the fuel system or something to do with fuel flow i had the throttle body cleaned it seems to right a tad bit better and idle a tad bit better but ONLy when its not doing the problem i was talking about above also to top this off from time to time the PGM-FI LIGHT comes on any one have any suggestions or experienced this problem before??
Sounds like the Fast Idle Valve needs adjusted, remove the top and turn the nylon 'split screw' in a couple turns
Be sure the coolant is full and block burped thru the 12mm bleed screw at the T-stat housing.

If you are getting a PGM-FI light there is a code stored in the computer under the drivers seat; look from the rear floor board and you'll se a little plastic door that covers the blinking LED; turn on the key and count the flashes
