yes!! i'm finally gonna put down my order for my d16. i got all my money together and i'm ready to get boosted. now i was just wondering, any supplies or parts i should get or gather while i'm waiting for the order to come in? i dont mean things like timer, boost gauge, etc, but like any other small things i mite need? also, the greddy kit comes with the fittings for the oil return line rite? so i just have to drill a hole in my oilpan and have the fitting welded in? thanks lots.

yes you need to drill a hole in the pan, have a profressional do it if your not sure. if you are installing yourself get some teflon tape and dont forget oil... preferably synthetic. thats all i can think of..

I would really consider going braided oil return line, the only problems I ever had w/ my turbo was when I used the crapy heater hose. Also, you may want to use check valves instead of the blue/black box. I saw a post recently that the owner gain a good amount of hp by changing out the box. Good luck and have fun boosting.

Don't forget solder if your going with the blue box, or need to extend the o2 sensor. Gasket sealant for your oil pan, oil filter? Have all your tools? Oh and just to let you know, Greddy didn't include enough hose clamps so i had to grab a couple extra. And the exhaust gasket is pretty cheap, I'd recommend just picking one up from the dealer. how much do steel braided lines cost? eventually i was prob gonna use em instead of the one they include, but im spending a good deal of my cash on the kit itself already. still gotta pay for school and crap. will it be ok if i use the oil line it comes with for a few weeks or maybe even a month? thanks

anyone have a stock oilpan their selling? my has a small dent in it and i planned to have it replaced anyway

 

I originally used the oil return parts taht came in the greddy kit but one day I was driving and thick black smoke started coming from the engine. What happened was the oil return hose was to close to the down pipe and ended up burning a hole in the hose. I ended up spending I think 60 bucks on braided line, I only needed maybe 6 inches of hose, and nevere had problems agian. my advice is to do the return lilne one and have some peice of mind. hope that helped a little

i just installed a steel braided oil return line on my greddy kit
i simply cut the turbo flange a bit then threaded the inside of it to 3/8, used a 3/8 to -10an 90 degree bend swivel seal hose end earl fitting, mated that up with a 1ft of steel braided hose, then connected the hose to a -10an to -10an 45 degree bend swivel seal hose end earl fitting which connects to a -10an flange which is welded to the oil pan

you will have to cut the steel braided hose to fit, because 1ft is more than enough

the JB weld holds well? better than real welding?

damn gauges are expensive when you add em all up...
