Tires Rubbing Fenders DOH! :(
Ah this sucks. I just took the Civic for a drive with my new 16" Rotas with 205/45/16 tires. Went great till I had to make a turn, SCRAAAAPE! OWWW! The rear tires are rubbing like mad! What options do I have? Raise the car up in the rear?"I do have coilovers" Roll the fenders? "How do you do it without F'ing up your car". Any other options? Thanks

Roll your fenders, but you could damage your paint doing so (mine cracked in a few spots). Or cut out the metal instead of rolling it and smooth out the edges.
If you do roll, just be very carefull and don't be a wimp and just do it a little bit or you still will rub.

I have somewhat good news. I actually had the black trim on around the wheel wells I took them off and took a dremel to my wheel wells to shave them a bit, then primered and painted. Went for a spin and it only seems to rub a bit on uphill turns. If this is the case I think I will be alright. Im thinking about getting a rear tie bar so the body doesnt flex as much, maybe this will help me out more....eh?
Even if that doesnt work with the tie bars, you could probly raise the car a bit (2 threads) and it will probly stop from rubbing and wont even be noticeable.
Should have ran 205/40-16s. Follow the rules of plus sizing! The 195/45-16 should work too, but that would be a really rare size and might not be recommended for the width of your wheel. Get a camber kit and give it some negative camber on the rear. That will get it to clear, but cause the car to understeer even more.
Like the earlier post, what is the offset and width on those wheels?

Wheels are 40 offset. I ran 40 series tires last year and hated them, I had a big wheel gap and the car hit bumps really hard. Looks much better with 45's, I know some guys on here who run 45's without a problem "Though Im not sure if they need to bend the fenders
G2REX91si is running 205/50/16's which i thought was weird at 1st when i saw them, but he said they are fine and arent rubbing at all...
You've got it, roll the lip or cut them out. I had 16x7 wheels with eibach sportline springs/tokiko illumina's - no adjustment. I made a couple 1/4" spacers to lift the body, but they had to go when I got a rear strut brace. IMO/experience, 16's ride like *** and don't handle any better than 15's. So, I sold the 16's (heavy bastards) and got some 15" C8's. No rubs.
Hey guys I notice it only rubs when the body flexes "uphill etc".....think a rear tower bar will possibly help the car from flexing maybe stopping the rub?
