REAL QUICK: Underdrive pully's

Any draw backs? And does the alternator last as long and charge as well with an underdrive pully?

the only drawback is..... your wallet becomes flatter and thats about it.

the alternator would be spinning faster with a smaller pulley so technically, yes it will reduce the life due to wear.

wouldn't an underdirve pulley actually be larger, to slow dow the alt. less resistance

Correct.

From what I have researched under drive pulleys on a 4 cylinder is pointless. Maybe 1-2hp. Save your money or spend it elsewhere. Unless all you want is the Bling effect from having anodized accessory pulleys at car shows.
