Default S2K valve angles?

I know that S2000 uses 4 angle for intake and exhaust but would it be beneficial compared to the stock 3 angle? Anyone ever try this on a b-series head?

S2000 valve angles:
Intake: 40° top cut; 1.20 mm. 45° seat; 67.5° to 82.5° throat cut.
Exhaust: 30° top cut; 1.40 mm. 45° seat; 67.5° to 82.5° throat cut.

I have started the same topic:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2012048

Seems like s2000 valve job was never used on a B series head.

If you have any more infos let me know.

It doesnt work like it does on a k series head...

b series needs something diff with the 3mm smaller valves

Brad,
Can you enlighten us about the "something different"?

Would it be along the lines of changing the angles to create more velocity because of the smaller valves?

Some stuff works good for both K and B

Just stay away from internet articles that try to apply technology developed for one type of port to larger volume multi-valve port like da Honda's.

The good info is not laid out on the internet for all to see. Most of the stuff you will come across are from people who are at best "journalists."

Rocket,
are you talking about a 37.5°-47.5°-62.5° seat's work that you recommended in an old topic?

Endyn has noticed significant improvement from leveraging the k and s2k head design for the b series, and its much much more than just copying angles ... lol, put it this was, its a lot of welding for Garvey. this isn't practical to offer to off the shelf customers but probably to race teams

Then to remain useful the topic which seat's work will work better for a street/roadrace high lift long duration cams application?

Why not just run a K if youre a race team looking for K head flow?

But anyway, Id like to see one of these ENDYN K/B heads. The K is a much "higher" port than a B, particularly the pr3 stuff. Im curious to see how much port volume is left to work with on the roof after youve raised the floor.

Hmm, I thought the K in and ex ports were "laid back".

The short side is more "laid back" yes, almost no short side, but the int port has a higher "angle of attack" than a B.

Its an F20C head. Not a K, but pretty close.

Look at the port entry on the B cutaway you posted. It starts out essentially "flat" and theres more of a turn to the short side. I know you cant see the F20C's port entry but looking at the int port you can see its not flat, its more "down draught".

If you study these two pics you might see why the VJ's need to be different.

Mazda/Ford Duratec ports are like the F20C (Cosworth style) very straight with a turn a 1/4" before the valve.
