Default K&N vs AEM- Short Ram

K&N $330.00 AEM $100.00 Is this a case of you get what you pay for? Or is there really no significant difference?

I would get an aem intake since it uses the dry flow filter.. Or just get an ebay intake and buy the dry flow filter from aem.

K&N highflow filter in your stock box.
Works better than any shortram intake ive ever used.

I have a DIY airbox using my old shortram and CAI, using a stock box. Has a deeper groan and allot more punch to it than any shortram or CAI ive used.

K&N stock (highflow) filters dont only work great for domestics anymore.

i was gonna put a k20 aem air filter on my stock pip with removed air box and resonator but i wasnt sure it would fit...so i was just wondering if a hi flow k&n replacement filter is better...also a more noticable vtec crossover if possible

The K&N highflow has been the best thing ive done yet for my intake. As for VTEC crossover, an intake wont really make it much more noticable than it would be for stock. It will remain about the same.

Stock airbox is better for throttle response. I read that somewhere where Spoon claims that.

Same ****, it'll increase throttle response.

If you were smart w/ a short ram you'd just buy an e-bay pipe and slap a K&N or AEM filter on it. The filter's the only part that matters.

It's an sri with a higher volume pipe. It sounds cool and looks different.

If i was going to spend 300 on a damn intake I would just use my stock box with a K&N filter, buy a front bumper foglight airdam hoodingy and run some pipe to from that to the bottom of my box. You can even pick up a spoon intake arm if you wanted, i have heard good things about spoon arms mated with stock intake boxes.

^^ Yes you should. And someone should to do a DIY on the same thing, but for the EG w/ a foglight airdam insert along with some custom bent piping running from the bottom of the stock intake box to the insert.

****... with $300.00 u can almost buy a used sohc turbo kit. if ur motor is stock... don't worry about intake cause you won't be making any noticeable difference. it'll just be for looks. maybe u should try cleaning/replacing your stock airfilter and see how that works

It helps throttle response but only makes Hp up high in the rpm range. I just sold mine and went back to stock air box with the resonator removed and K&N drop in filter.
