Default Short shifter vs. Stock shifter.

Some say Short shifters are better. (B&M/Sk2)
Some say Stock shifters are better. (ITR/GSR)

I know that short shifters help reduce throw reduction, but I heard it can cause miss shifts.. and can mess up the transmissions. And stock shifters are more precise in shifting.

Is it worth it to get a short shifter? Is it worth going from short shifter back to stock?

DUAL BEND OR SINGLE BEND?

Shifters don't mess up transmissions, shifting like a dumbass does.

Changing shifter bushings and the shifter/**** simply changes feel.

it DOES provide shorter length in shift durations but the difference is minute.

Skunk2 shifter and **** combo IMO is the smoothest shifter feel i've even had.

i've had B&M, stock civic, GSR shifter, and some ebay brand shifter.

None stack up the the skunk2 dual bend.

IMO, Very worth it for an aftermarket shifter.

Wouldn't that in fact INCREASE the throw?

Anyway, its all in the way you shift. Don't shift like a retard, you won't mess up your transmission. Like EK said the throw reduction is minimal, its more goin to be a "feel improvement" especially if you have upgraded bushings. Yes, its worth it. No its not going to make your car more powerful.

nothing beats a dual bend SS...either from b&m, blox, or skunk2.

As for ruining the tranny, its really up to the driver. as you can see ^^^ em1_oosi and ek forever has explained it pretty well haha.

DC sports shortshifter has a great feel to it too. If you had to pick a bend, id say go with dual.

I got a Dual Bend B&M Short shifter and changed out the bushings... Shifts smoothe and feels like stock, just "smoother".

Single bend B&M with skunk2 **** and energy suspension bushings. I couldn't be happier, just don't shift like an idiot and you will love it like I do!

energy suspension polyurethane bushings= $13 well spent.

i have a b&m in my hatch and an ebay one in my eg8 and honestly i like the ebay shifter better. just my opinion i guess both have poly bushings the ebay one just feels more precise for some reason as dumb as that sounds.

That's because the B&M is a POS.

Dual bend or single is just more about the position of the shifter, dual bend is the most popular.

My civics stock so i havent swapped it out but i have a short throw in my 300zx and i love it. I got bronze bushings for it and it gives a much better feel than those flimsy plastic ones that came with it.

Prothane, ES, a bushing is a bushing. The prothanes are supposed to be stiffer, so I got those.
