actually.. from what ive heard its actually more in the middle.. i heard ceramic headers might actually flow better then stainless steel. That true? I think al ot of people buy the stainless steel's cuz they doesn't rust as much and they look better.

People go with stainless headers because over time, ceramic cracks(maybe five years), while stainless headers will live longer than you will. But more importantly they look shiny . . . actually after a while they give this rainbow looking color .

ceramic will begin to rust fairly soon. Stainless Steel will rainbow, but it looks a lot better than the dull look of ceramic.

I have a Comptech header and they don't offer Ceramic. I've always thought that Ceramic's main advantage was that it reduced underhood temperatures...but who knows?! I have heard though, they they do rust after time.
I'm planning on Heat Wrapping mine anyway since they've already gone "rainbow" on me....
I Love my header BTW

Optimally, we'd all have ceramic-coated stainless steel headers. The ceramic coating helps keep the heat inside the header, rather than cooking in the engine bay. Stainless, obviously, lasts much longer. Unfortunately, though, after the "rainbow" stage, the stainless kind of turns an ugly brown color -- like mine (been on for 6 yrs). So, the ceramic will act to protect the stainless finish. Really, ceramic-coated mild steel headers should last long enough. They really only rust in areas where the coating has been chipped or scratched.

Stainless steel still gets my

most dont buy headers for their aesthetic properties. not worth the difference.

agreed, for around $350, ceramic is the best way to go. Screw the bling blinging.. unless you are a show car of course =D.

Stainless.... Im sorry I dont want my header being made out of something that I walk on in my kitchen. Stainless steel all the way, MUCH more durable. Esp. if you live somewhere you get snow/salt on the roads.
