Default when very rain driver underside carpet wet

Hello All,

I've recently noticed after heavy rain that under the driver side carpet seems to be getting very damp, but only directly under the steering wheel. It seems dry near the pedals.

I have noticed the rubber seal around the window seems to be split in some places, and on the driver side part there is a slight small peice peeling away (pics will be added).

I've installed visors (OEM honda), but I doubt this is the source of the leak

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

M

Do you have splash guards around your wheel wells/fenders? (not mudflaps) Me like an idiot test drove my car without a front bumper when I installed my ghetto cold air intake, went fast, wind pushed the splash guard towards my wheel, the wheel tore that thing off like no other.. now when you look under my passenger fender, you see all metal and no plastic. So because of that, Now if I drive in the rain, the passenger side gets soaked just like you mention. Today I semi-flooded my car so I don't even want to talk about what it's like at the moment.

best thing you can do is hose the car down and see if u can determine where the leak is coming from.

Pic shows the damp area and also the window rubber.

Part of the driver side seal is peeling and there seems to be a 1" gap

Upper rubber seems to be splitting (not sure even if this is the cause?)

Wet patches (seems to be by heels but theres water coming in and its not from above)

Any ideas please post.

Thanks

Iss most likely your window trim. When my car was stolen the thief put ONE rip on my window trim, or weather stripping, whatever you want to call it. At the top of the window. Ever since that happened, when it rained hard or light, I would have damn carpet, or be carrying out olf towels to mop up a puddle

Take a water bottle, or bucket and pour it on the trim where it is torn and check if it leaks in. Either that or take it to a car wash, spray with pressure or lightly around until you find where it runs through.
