will they fit? i thought they looked pretty much the same, i dont know why they wouldnt... can somebody fill me in please? im broke and im trying to get my car back on the road cheap im not worried about appearance

yes they will fit

TO use the 99-00 front end, you need the:

Fenders
Bumper
Grill
Headlights
Hood

And the radiator support is nice to have, but not necessary. You can shave some of the bumper or grind some off the 96-98 radiator support.

Agreed. Replacing the core support/radiator seems less ghetto to me.

If you just have to replace some parts of the front, just get the right year(s). You're going to need 1999 or 2000 Civic coupe, sedan or hatch parts.

Hold it I think hes reversing going from 2000 TO the 97-98, If thats the case you need to drill a hole on the upper bumper mounting tabs because they are different on the 99-00. Either that or you will have to replace the radiator support with a earlier EK model, If you dont do one of these two your bumper will not line up on the upper tabs and you wont be able to fasten it or your grill.

I can't fathom why anyone would want to bother making the conversion BACK to the 96-98 front end. It's doable, basically the opposite of what's been posted.

Just buy a 98-98 and save the 99-00 front ends.

I can't fathom why anyone would do either swap. Pick what car you want from the beginning.

I read it as him wanting to put '96-'98 parts on his '99-'00 because he has damage.

I just now noticed ek forever guy had said it backwards.

And I think the '96-'98 front end is more attractive. It definately has more stock options, which are what I like (not really into aftermarket lips of any type).

Then again, it doesn't sound like he wants to do a front end conversion. He just wants his car back together.

To the OP, look on this site. It can help you find used parts at salvage yards that are local to you.

If you just want to get it back on the road, hit your nearest junkyard and get the parts you need.

Sounds like you have a 2000, so find a rear-ended 99-00 coupe/hatch and get what you need off of it.

If you're just looking to get it back on the road, you don't need to go through the trouble of the more expensive front end swap.

Its as simple as a Honda parts website... go on, plug in the 2 years, and search for the parts you are looking for only to find out that they carry different part #'s.

it's not even that complicated. This question is asked often. "Can '98 EX headlights fit on my '99 EX?" "Can I put a '99-'00 Si front bumper on my car without changing the rest?" And so on.

Then again though, this site's search engine could be easier to use. If I were to want to search for a topic, there are four different ways to search for it. Recent / Topic Titles, Recent / Post Content, Archived / Topic Titles and Archived / Post Content.
