Default Roll Call: All Turboed Automatics

If you have an Automatic with a turbo please state your modifications and dyno results if any plus any time slips. I currently have a LS with a DRAG kit and wanted to see what other autos were able to achieve.

Install with all mods listed in sig.

I lost my 2 time slips... only did 2 runs at the track and I remember the only 2 important things..

1/4 were 16.0 and 15.9 @ 89mph and 90mph
60's were 2.8 and 2.734
Car weight was 2790 with me in it (subs in the trunk and spare removed... thats it)

I had 17's on, the car was in D4 for both runs, and had never been to the track before that day.

Needless to say I could launch much better with practice... having the car in D4 was what killed me. The car can stand 3rd gear up to 110mph or more before hitting redline in my car (I tested to find this out). I haven't been to a dyno yet but will be going as soon as I can afford it.... not for hp results but for tuning... I wanna keep my motor more then I Wanna squeeze a few more pounds of boost out of her.

I too ran a 15.8 in the qtr with a reaction time of .602 and a top speed of 88! I don't think it was worth 4K to run 15's in the qtr. I dynoed at only 150hp that aint ****...

What car year etc... whats your fuel setup, size tires? did you power brake? did you take the runs in d3 or d4? You know reaction time has NOTHING to do with your 1/4 times right? What were your 60's

It is a 98 fourdoor, with the airtex inline pump, vortech fmu 12:1, AEM fuel rail, S-AFC, Fuel pressure guage. I can't remember my 60ft. it was like 2 seconds I think, yes I power braked in 1st gear then shifted like a manual through the gears to finish in D3

Shadowdawn: Just curious, but what does your EGT gauge read when you are crusing around 55 or 60 mph? Mine is sitting around 1200 to 1300 fahrenheit.

your car got problems or somthing ? hitting 15s with a drag kit is not good. i see that you dynoed your car, but is it tuned properly ? seems like trap speed is a little low too

50-60 is like 500c.... only time I hit real high egts.. like 850 is a 3rd gear pull to redline.

I"m turbo'ed auto , haven't done a qtr mile pass yet but so far I'm actually very impressed with how the turbo runs with an auto.

Can you list your exact fuel setup/gauges a/f or egt readings etc... anything you can share with info in as much detail as possible... Us boosted autos have to keep our information spread with each other :D

Vortech FMU 12:1, Airtex Inline Pump, AEM Fuel Rail, DEFI Fuel Pressure Gauge, DEFI EGT Gauge, DEFI Boost Gauge, Apexi S-AFC, Apexi N1 Exhaust, MSD-BTM

EGT's are usually around 1200 or so while boosting, at a speed of 60mph on the inerstate they stay high too. When I stop at a light they will drop to 800 or so I think. My A/f per the dyno is 11.5:1

For me I run as hot as 840C sometimes when i'm jus cruisin at highway speeds when I'm not boosting. When I boost I am right around 800 and rise a little above it without any probs. According to my apexi timer when I floor it I tend to run a little rich at like 12 or somethin like that. Which isn't too bad or anything like that.

A dyno would be the best bet to get the right info. I know of this one dude in tampa my boy keeps tellin me bout that i'll take my car to eventually.

I only ran 840-850 on a 3rd gear pull to redline... when boosting I only get like MABYE 830c at full boost on the highway. I do know egt temps have to do with timing... the lower the timing the higher the EGT's cause your causing less fuel/air mixture to be burned in the engine hence higher temps leaving the engine cause of the later spark..

Mabye turbo-teg your egts are so low cause your timing is advanced beyound stock... which to my knowledge is not healthy, causes real high cylindar pressure etc... more stress on the engine. To my knowledge people usually turn up timing to stock at the track and lower it a degree or 2 for every day use.

Turbo-teg you do a compression test? mabye your rings are fried with minimal blow by or something... I suggest checkin everything out.
