exhaust cut out
anyone running an exhaust cut out? cops are real strict where i live and dont want to drw alot of attention when cruising it so i thought about running a 05 exhaust on my 02 type-s with an exhaust cut out so when i go to the track all i gotta do is open it up and run open header. what do you guys think? anyone have one i would like to get some feedback
someting like that but thats like kinda a more ghetto version of what i wanted to do they do make electronic exhaust cut outs where you just mount a switch in your car and when you hit it the flange opens up and its like your running open header i will try and find a pick of what im talking about and post it up
i know what you're talking about, NMotion96 on CRSX has one. just make sure you do it before the cat if its for track use only. and btw it is loud as hell it sounds like a bike hitting redline
I ran my car for a week w/o an exhaust when I was swapping between exhausts and it was really freak'n loud. Everything also shook inside the car, even the speakers so it distorted all the sound. Sounded pretty mean though, but bottom end was gone.

And if you do decide to buy one make sure it is one of quality. I've seen cheap ones start leaking and then you have to redo alot of exhaust work to put a different one in.

If you put the cutout too close to the header, then yes--this could be a potential problem.
Personally I'd put the cut-out further back in the exhaust system. It is still a street car, first and foremost.
