Save up for a swap or a turbo.

or a real car if you just want to go fast.

How much of a shot of nos would be safe on a stock engine?

He got it for about 130$ plus he's been getting little pieces here and there. Not sure of how much he will actually spend.

You can't just add nitrous. You will blow up your motor that way. Take it to a shop, they will install the nitrous, and tune your car. That means getting a new fuel management system (either a chipped ECU, or some other fancy engine management system.

And this is why the world hates Hondas.

What happened, got owned by a stock neon and realized your stock DX which you thought ran 13's is slower than ****?

Search, this has been covered too many times.

What I would do:
- Mini-me - (D15B7/VTEC - Put a D16Z6 head on it - write-up/how-to = here.
- Slap an EX transmission on it - 2nd, 3rd, and the final drive are all shorter making a noticeable increase of power.

Do those two things with a short ram intake (cheap ****, no need to spend 250 bux on it, just get a good filter w/ a short cheap **** pipe), header (again, you don't need a 400 dollar header, any 60 dollar header would do for increased flow on a low power D), and exhaust (get a cheap catback, again, you don't need a 600 dollar exhaust).

That'll make a dramatic increase of power from the way the stock B7 is. It'll just about level you with Z6's - probably put you around 130hp at the flywheel if you do your research right.

If you can't afford a swap and you have a B7 - mini-me and Si/Ex trans is DEFINITELY the way to go and COMPLETELY worth it.

It's like bolting on 25hp.

Then getting shorter gears with the 4.25 FD instead of the 4.0 or whatever it is - along with the shorter 2nd and 3rd.

D15B7 = 85 whp stock

Mine did 118 whp after adding AEM CAI, Stillen header, 2.25" exhaust, Z6 intake, A6 cam with Y7/Y8 cam gear.

That was eight years ago.......

Dude, don't invest too much in that little motor, even if it is to replace like half of it. I say if you're going to upgrade a D, go all or nothing; A full engine swap or no swap.

IMO, just go for a cheap-*** turbo setup with a good tune, maybe even a transmission swap, and run it. A turbo will get you the gains that you want (I/H/E will not, trust me), and can be pretty cost-effective. Just do that, and run it until you get enough money for a more powerful engine, or blow the **** up, and leave it until you can afford to do anything to it that's worthwhile.
