Ok, i need some help. I have a 2000 civic ex with a dead engine (its knocking itself to death now), so im looking and i found a jdm d15b vtec swap. I like it because it has vtec, and makes almost identical numbers to my current engine.

Now, i have done some research and found that my d16y8 tranny will bolt right up, along with my d16y8 intake mani (i heard the y8 intake mani is better than the d15b one). So my question is what else will i need?

I believe the d15b is OBDI and my car is OBDII, So what will i need to do to fix this? Also what is the vtec crossover and redline of the d15b jdm engine if anybody knows? Will i be able to use my d16y8 ecu with this swap or will i need to purchase a different ecu for it?

If somebody can just help me out here and tell me what i need to do to make this work, it would be great. Thanks in advance!

First off, which JDM D15b, the OBD1 is the standard single stage vtec motor, which looks like a D15b8.
The other version, the three-step, dual VTEC JDM d15b is OBD2, resembles that of a Y8 motor, and is from the 1996-1999 civic VTI.
