Re: d16y8 and d16b help
well if you want to make it easy get an obd2 d15b with three stage vtec. Or you could get obd1 but your 2000 ex is obd2 and you would have to get a obd2-obd1 jumper. Thats about it oh and you might want the ecu that's for the d15b.

Why swap out a D-series for another D-series? Is something wrong with your motor? If not, that money is better invested in a swap or turboing your current motor.

Re: d16y8 and d16b help
thats exactly why, my engine has 235k miles on it, so i figured i would just go ahead and replace the whole engine and then boost it cuz i love boosted d's make alot of power AND torque

Re: d16y8 and d16b help
but you would be buying a USED one in an unkown condition
then throwing boost on a stock motor.
it just makes more sense to me, to go ahead and rebuild the Y8 with some forged rods, vitaras, new bearings and rings, ARP headstuds.
then you can push some nice power levels on a good tune and have some more reliability
do what you want, but you will make more power and more reliability for not much more money
