Help with axles ASAP
Hey, im new to the honda game and I jus traded my 5.0 for an EG hatch last week...my problem is the car shakes violently past 60mph and Ive already:
1.) replaced both lower balljoints and outer tie rods (there was play and this eliminated it)
2.) replaced the front struts (there were leaking anyway)
3.) balanced the tires (they are a little dry rotted but there are no shifted belts or anything)
the car has a type r trans in it with LSD stamped on the bellhousing...at least when i bought the car i was told it was an ITR trans...could it be a b16 trans with the LSD?
ive looked up some info here but im a little confused as to what car the trans came from??
my boss and i looked at the axles and they seem to have a little too much play back and forth so what im thinkin is that the previous owner may have installed the wrong axles... what im getting at is that i dont know how to tell and which axles to order for the car? help me out, thanks

the code for the tranny should be stamped on it but the thing about that is that doesn't always tell you what kind of tranny it is because they reused some of the tranny codes in trannies that have different gear ratios.. soooo sorry i couldnt help
thanks for replying, i dont think its the wheel bearings because there would still be play in the wheels when i shake it and there isnt...i work at an alignment shop too and ive done an alignment on it since i replaced these parts...
that sucks about the code...i dont remember seeing one stamped on there anyway maybe i was looking in the wrong area...i think i read on here that it is inside the casing?? i dont wanna go that far to find out

no it should be on the outside around the front where it bolts on.. but god forbid if it happens to be stolen which i have bought a couple of cars that i think have had stolen **** in them then the person who stole it prolly took all the numbers and codes off of it
well i hope its not stolen the kid said he paid alot for it...but i cant be sure, ill look for the number again but i dont know if itll help me according to what you said about the codes
