You would probably be better off venting from the valve cover and vent/return from the back. But I don't think you should be making that much vapor NA.Either you have a lot of blowby or your running high oil temps.

ive read that oem fittings may create a vacuum and pull oil out of the motor?

Some thing is wrong.

Two years ago i had the same problem. We were having a lot of blow by to the catch can. We had to top up min 0.5Liter oil every one hour non-stop race else we will get oil starvation and vtec won't open. Car was not smoking too.

We check everything and came to 2 conclusion.

1. Bad valve seal causing air leak and pressure to valve cover.

2. Too loose a cylinder bore causing higher pressure blow by through the valve seal.

I don't know if it made sense but this what we think.

The next engine build we run a tighter piston to wall clearance and 100% OEM Honda Valve seal and solve the problem.

I have used the fittings on the back of the block several times and I wound up giving up on it and just running valve cover vents.

are the valve cover vents enough to vent on a NA motor???

is the block vents really necessary???

If you weld on some -8 or -10 fittings on the cover its plenty enough for NA. There is a good spot on the front of the cover behind a baffle to use.

Currently I have my OEM valve cover hole open to atmosphere seems fine, never any oily residue around it so I would guess i do not have a blow-by problem. I am not sure why so many guys have problems with the cans filling and others do not.
