Default help with a little surface rust

when I was washing my car today I noticed a little surface rust on my driver side rear quarter pannel. It is so small you cant tell it is there but I am very detailed when it comes to cars. My questions is should I sand it an touch it up? I am not very good at touch up it look better if I lest it alone, but I don't want to run the risk of it rusting threw. I plan on getting my car repainted in about 2 years and I love my eg and will be keeping it for years to come. What should I do?

So you have "surface rust" on your rear quarter panels. Doubt it. What you're probably seeing is the rust from the inside just starting to break through the paint. I would bet you that this place is near the lip of the wheel opening?

Do anything you can to nip that rust in the bud. If this is just a result of chipped off paint, then you're lucky. This should be a good wakeup call for older car owners to take a look all throughout their cars for this stuff. Sand off/repair any other rust damage, and rustoleum the whole inside of your car to prevent any further damage it could cause.

Bottom line:
Rust is one of the automotive enthusiast's worst enemies.
