I have the same problem on my trans. My first gear is a pain to get into sometimes. I'm thinking that its the sincs in the trans. You could try changing out your fluid and flushing you trans but I doubt it will get much better.

1st won't let you go into it unless you are under 10 km an hour. Reverse has a lock on it so you don't put it in reverse while you are moving. You have to be completely stopped to properly put it in reverse. IF you are moving, you could be damaging the gears.

Although this is true, it's not uncommon for it to be hard to go into first or reverse when at a complete standstill

what u want to do at a standstill, is to ease off the clutch a little as u shift it into first or reverse.... but not too much or else the gears'll grind

hmm... never tried that. What you also do is while holding the clutch in, switch to another gear and back. should work

another trick: let off the clutch completely and then push it in again and that works 100% of the time for me.

if 1st gear sticks, then quickly pop to second. You should be able to take off in second without bogging the potatoes out of your sack!

Not to thread jack. But what about no 5TH gear or Reverse?

My car worked, I came out the next morning, and 5TH gear and R is gone. I swapped linkage, so thats not the problem. I tried moving the levers manually, and it does the same.

Anyone know what internal parts would go bad, so I can order them to do it? I believe it is a fork but I don't know...
