Default Very Confusing dont know were to look next?

Alright ive been working on my buddies car for a bit and his car broke down. it wont start and ive replaced the plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, and external ignition coil and it keeps turning over but dosent start up. ive tried testing if the ignition coil is even giving power to the dizzy and it seems like its not. so were could i look to find out why the ignition coil isnt powering up? any ideas?

What year civic is it, and does it have an oem distributor and ignition setup? Is it cranking but not firing?

I would check over the underhood fuse box, mainly the ignition related relays and fuses first. I'm sure you already did that, but everyone sometimes overlooks the simplest solutions (myself included). Make sure you have the wires in the right order on the cap too. If you have a spark tester go ahead and use it, that way you wont have to dig into the distributor to see if the coil/ignitor are getting power. If not, you can do a ghetto spark test by getting a known good plug and put it on a known good wire. Touch the electrode to a valve cover bolt while someone cranks it. It should spark but be careful when you do it. It gets the job done, but they definitely don't teach kids that test in auto tech classes.

If its a stock distributor and ignition set up, ignitors and distributor sub assemblies are fairly problematic, enough so that Honda extended OBD2 distributor subassembly warranties. If the ignitor is bad you still may get a spark, but one that is too weak to do any good.

If that stuff seems ok, I would grab a helms and check the ignition and fuel system troubleshooting flow charts.

Hope I've been somewhat helpful.

i would check if there is injection too because if both are ****** up you are never going to find the problem... check for fuel pressure, injection, ignition spark, compression etc.
